  • TutorialThe opening dream sequence. It teaches interaction and inventory before the story proper starts, and it is the only part of the game that cannot strand you.
  • KuvaqThe village Rufus is trying to leave, and the longest opening section in the series. It runs from packing to escape, then continues aboard the Organon cruiser after Goal falls.
  • Junk MineDoc's territory below Kuvaq. Three linked goals, all built around one vehicle: get the cart working, get the unconscious Goal onto it, and ride it out.
  • Lower Ascension StationThe bottleneck between the surface and Elysium, and where the first game ends. The mosaic table here is the puzzle most people stall on.

What actually happens

Story →

Four games, one continuous story, and an ending the series commits to rather than softens. The story page covers what each game is responsible for, who Rufus and Goal actually are, and where every named character ends up — with the late reveals kept behind a marked spoiler line, so you can read the setup without losing the trilogy's ending.

  • 4games, release order = story order
  • 56characters with a recorded fate
  • 11of them do not survive it

Above and below

27 of 31 Locations →

Deponia's whole plot is one axis: the trash surface below, the floating city Elysium above, and Rufus trying to get up. Locations on this site are grouped the same way. 27 of the 31 entries sit on that axis; the remaining 4 are the planet itself and the vessels that move between the two levels, which the locations page lists separately.

ElysiumAbovethe floating city

3 of the 5 places above the clouds, out of 27 mapped in all. Rufus reaches none of them until the very end.

Lower Ascension Station — the only way up
DeponiaBelowthe trash surface

8 of the 22 surface locations shown — see the other 14 →. That imbalance is exactly the joke the series keeps making.
